Subject: BS: Can anyone recommend a Sussex folk club From: Julia_Writer Date: 27 Aug 12 - 06:03 AM Hello After ten years in London I am about to move home to Sussex. To offset the inevitable stress of living back with my parents I have decided to be more pro-active in finding a folk club (once I have found a car!) near Chichester. I know there's one at Oving and The Famous Willows at Arundel. Is anyone familiar with either of these or knows of another they'd recommend? Thanks Julia |

Oving used to be the Chichester club site, but they now meet at the Four Chesnuts, The Hornet, on Tuesday nights. And The Willows is now at the football club in Arundel on Wednesday nights. |

Subject: RE: BS: Can anyone recommend a Sussex folk club From: Will Fly Date: 27 Aug 12 - 03:52 PM Check out the Sussex Folk Guide. The Willows is friendly, packed out on Guest nights, but I personally find the open stage nights musically dull - though still friendly. The two Lewes clubs - the Saturday club at the Elephant & Castle, and the Thursday Club at the Royal Oak - are both excellent and consistently good. Also good clubs at Horsham and Seaford. And more sessions than you can shake a stick at, if you enjoy such things. |
