One of Britain's best-loved actresses has just passed. A gorgeous, multi-talented all-rounder.

I'll leave it to others to expound on her life (I first loved her in Cliff Richard films, haha :)), but here is a Guardian Obit :

I only knew about her in the 60s, & had no idea what she has done afterwards.

And I only knew her in Sherlock - but she was so charming in that role, and I suspect Mrs. Hudson took on new dimensions in this recent set of episodes because of who played her.

I've been enjoying the Aunt Sally-Worzel Gummidge compilations today on YT, with Una Stubbs and Jon Pertwee - I missed this gem of a show the first time around (1979-81)!!
