Short notice again but in case anyone is around North Norfolk this weekend...

It is the 4th Folk On The Pier Weekend in Cromer this weekend. There are usually bits and pieces going on in pubs in the town and in the beer tent (Woodefords ales) on the pier as well as acts in the theatre on the pier.

The pavillion, where the main events are held, is out along the pier, so most acts started their performances with "this is our first overseas gig".

I've been twice & enjoyed it both times. There's a nice campsite at West Runton, a couple of miles inland.

I remember many years ago enjoying Saturday evenings in the Bath Public House near the pier in Cromer do those sessions still exist?

I don't know the pub. I'm not aware of any sessions in Cromer either. The nearest folk event to Cromer that I know of is one in the Burlington Hotel, Sherringham on the second Wednesday of the month. It mostly a sing aroud but the do have the odd instrumental too. I've not been in a while (I tend to make my weekly "fix" an Irish instrumental session in Norwich) but it's a very friendly place.

Went into the White Horse yesterday and bumped into Morticia and Gomez which was a nice surprise.

We had that Show Of Hands at our club (St. Neots) festival last night, along with Paul Downes. They were just great, so hope you've all had a good time at Cromer (it's 19.05, so you're probably in pub as I write...)

Couldn't do this one I'm afraid -suffer from the 'no good at piers and jetties if I can see the water through the flooring syndrome' gives me vertigo!

Well, we had a lovely time, bumped into lots of old friends and it was great to see Jon looking so well.Show of Hands were fabulous as always and I got within several feet of Steve Knightley ( til Gomez dragged me, hyperventilating away).Paul Downes was great too.
