Subject: Lyr Req: Broken Legged Chicken From: Beer Date: 02 Mar 06 - 02:27 PM Or maybe it should read: "I'm a Boll Legged Chicken and a crossed eyed hen. Never been so happy since I don't know when. I walk with a wiggle, and I wiggle and walk. Doing the Tennessee, wig, walk." These words are probably not correct and they are more than likely the chorus of a song I remember a little from childhood. Anyone know all the lyrics? |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Broken Legged Chicken From: Jacob B Date: 02 Mar 06 - 03:44 PM Beer: Click on the link above labelled "Tennessee Wigwalk", under the header DigiTrad. For a moment I thought you might mean the song "Tennessee Birdwalk", which has the chorus: Remember me, my darling, when Spring is in the air The bald-headed birds are whispering everywhere When you see them walking southwards in their dirty underwear The Tennessee Birdwalk. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Broken Legged Chicken From: GUEST,Art Thieme Date: 03 Mar 06 - 12:53 AM This is about a couple who must part and they split a chicken in half before he goes away for seven years. When he returns all he has is his half of the wishbone. She has her half. They put 'em together and make a wish----for another wishbone. It comes true at KFC when they find another wishbone. Their story continues until they are both in their nineties.--- They both die ---- after chicken wishbones get stuck in their throats. The leg is broken in half and each one is buried with their broken chicken leg half. Art |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Broken Legged Chicken From: Peace Date: 03 Mar 06 - 04:59 PM 'Kiwanians get a peep at Minstrel Show Denton Kiwanians got "two small peeps" at the 1954 Kiwanis Minstrel Show yesterday. As a preview of the 28th minstrel show to be presented at NTSC Friday, director R.B. Neale Jr. introduced Miss Joan Ramey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin G. Ramey, and Miss Nancy Sharer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sharer. They performed "Tennessee Wigwalk" and "Choo-Choo Train."' Older than that for sure. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Broken Legged Chicken From: GUEST,Pete (Guest) Date: 07 May 07 - 06:34 PM As I remember some of the words were;- 'I'm a bow-legged chick, I'm a knock-kneed hen Never been so happy since I don't know when I walk with a wiggle and a wiggle and a squawk Doing the Tennesee wig walk. Put your toes together, your knees apart, Bend your back, get ready to start. Flap your elbows just for luck Then you wiggle and you woggle like a baby duck. As this dares back to vinyl days and wind-up gramophones I may not be word perfect. |
Subject: Lyr Add: TENNESSEE WIGWALK (Gimbel, Coleman) From: Peace Date: 07 May 07 - 08:00 PM Tennessee Wigwalk (Words and music by N. Gimbel and L. Coleman) I'm a bow-legg'd chicken, I'm a knock-knee'd hen Never been so happy since I don't know when I walk with a wiggle and giggle and a squawk Doin' the Tennessee Wigwalk. To a tune on a fiddle on a hardwood floor Tho' I'm broke and I'm weary and my back is sore I walk with a wiggle and giggle and a squawk Doin' the Tennessee Wigwalk. Put your toes together; your knees apart Bend you back; get ready to start Flap your elbows just for luck Then you wiggle and you waddle like a baby duck. Dance with me honey; tap your toes and glide And we'll always be together; side by side Walk with wiggle and a giggle and a squawk Doin' the Tennessee Wigwalk. Walk with a wiggle; wiggle with a walk And you're doin' the Tennessee Wigwalk. Doin' the Tennessee Wigwalk. Doin' the Tennessee Wigwalk. Recorded by Bonnie Lou Good memory. |
