Hi

I am trying to contact my brother Dave Coulter, folk musician and music teacher. Last Known addressess were Banksia and Sans Souci in Sydney.

He has not replied to mail (that said with our postal service there is no guarantee it got there!!!)

Anyone know if he is still in the Sydney area or if he has gone walkabout? (he has been known to do so)

Any info would be appreciated.

A search of the online White Pages 'phone directory doesn't find a 'D Coulter' in either of those suburbs. He may well have moved house ... and perhaps your mail is still looking for him (... or at the walls of the Dead Letter Office!).

If you click on 'string', the second one down says:

"David Coulter (Guitar)
Guitarist David Coulter has a long history in folk music, playing mandolin, banjo, cittern, autoharp, concertina, and so on, as well as guitar. He is a music teaching graduate from Sydney University." and there's a photo.

They are at Hurstville, which is not all that far away from the suburbs you mentioned. Not all that far away from me at Earlwood, actually. If you click on 'contact' there's a phone number too.

I'm wondering though if the website is up to date. Where are you, Commander Crabbe? If you aren't local, I could ring them for you and find out if he's still there.

That is indeed him! But my sister has tried e-mailing with no success and it looks like the site was last updated some time ago.

I think the school must have folded... but not yet removed their web site.

I rang the 'phone number on their contact panel - and got a recorded message "We regret that the number you have dialled has been disconnected". There was no alternative number or information.

Does OZ have something like a Musicians' Association or Union? Maybe he's registered with them.

Ah Bob, just as I was thinking of ringing them myself - you've saved me the trouble. I was a bit suspicious that although the school was listed in my yellow pages (from last year) it wasn't in the white pages.

I wonder if it would help if we sent a message out to Ausfolk?

Hi,

If you do a search in the Oz White Pages directory
under the residential tab, and just put the surname Coulter, and initial D, and then choose each state one by one and search each state, you will get a list of all the D Coulter's in the Oz phone books. Does Dave have a second name? If so it narrows down the search.

But I'm sure that someone at Mudcat will know of him, or know more about his current whereabouts.
