Visiting Mother (means we have babysitter) and wondered if anything is happening preferably involving singing/playing rather just listening this weekend in Lincoln or nearby.

I might play the banjo but the wife is pretty good at more socially accepatable things like guitar and singing!

Bring herself and the banjo along to Gainsborough FC, The Melrose Club, Melrose Road, Gainsborough. Promise no banjo jokes!   :-) :-)

What I meant to say was (slip of the finger posted without writing anything, typical of a banjo player eh!) was:

You mean I can't tell banjo jokes?

Apologies if this sounds smug but have a listen to what Wendy sounds like (and then just hope my mother is in a good mood!). I admit to be biased

Villain, Sooz,

Thanks for the info re Gainsborough Folk Club and the other happenings around Lincoln. The deal is done with mother, we get to come out on Friday if we take her out for dinner on Saturday. It would have been cheaper to get a baby sitter and travel down from North Yorks just for the evening!

Unfortunately the deal done means that you will not only get Wendy's silky tones but also me and the banjo at Gainsborough on Friday night. Sorry about that! :)

Looking forward to it already.

Paul
