Subject: Lyr Req: Blue Murder From: singer27 Date: 09 Aug 07 - 02:26 PM I just heard a recording of Niamh Parsons singing a tune I am assuming is called, "Blue Murder" since it's the main tagline to the song. Any one have the lyrics anywhere? |
Subject: Lyr Add: BLUE MURDER (Appice, Franklin, Sykes) From: Peace Date: 09 Aug 07 - 02:34 PM Thought you'd never ask. Blue Murder lyrics Artist: Blue Murder Album: Blue Murder Buy Blue Murder CD Lyrics: Blue Murder Yeah Give me money now reach for the sky You better believe when I say I'm gonna bleed you dry A few dollars more will keep you alive Get down on the floor if you'd like to survive They're screaming blue murder I'm scheming to survive Blood money they want me Loud hailers screaming dead or alive There's blood on my face and I'm out on a limb I'm fighting for life and I don't know if I'm going to win Sirens are wailing there's not time to waste They're shooting to kill -- get me out of this place yeah They're screaming blue murder I'm scheming to survive Blood money they want me Loud hailers screaming dead or alive I'm rolling in money I'm down on the floor Smashing the windows and kicking the doors They'll take me alive and that's all that I'll fear They're getting so close but all I can hear is They're screaming blue murder I'm scheming to survive Blood money they want me Loud hailers screaming dead or alive The bullets are flying all over my head I aim to escape I don't care whose blood is shed A shot in the dark with a loaded gun They're shooting on sight till this war is won They're screaming blue murder I'm scheming to survive Blood money they want me Loud hailers screaming dead or alive They're screaming blue murder I'm scheming to survive Blood money they want me Loud hailers dead or alive They're screaming blue murder I'm scheming to survive Blood money they want me Loud hailers dead or alive Blue murder |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Blue Murder From: GUEST,singer27 Date: 09 Aug 07 - 10:16 PM Thanks for responding; however, that is not the song that Niamh Parsons's sings. When I have a few minutes, I will listen the song again and type up the words for that song. |

Subject: Lyr Add: BLUE MURDER (Tom Robinson) From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 09 Aug 07 - 11:01 PM Blue Murder Tom Robinson Band He wasn't a loony with a sawn-off gun A dangerous terrorist on the run He'd never been mugging or molested a nun He was really quite a regular guy... Six pints sober in the club one night He started to argue with the law outside- Gets arrested and his hands are tied. Liddley-die Lie lie lie diddley lie Die die die Liddley die Well they kicked him far and they kicked him wide. Not that one either? Blue Murder |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Blue Murder From: Joe Offer Date: 10 Aug 07 - 12:53 AM I thought I had all of Niamh Parsons' recordings, but this song is on a CD I haven't seen, The Old Simplicity. This page (click) says "Blue Murder" is by Scots/New Zealand songwriter Alistair Hulett, on asbestos mining conditions in Australia. I really enjoyed her performance when she was here in 2004. She said she lurks at Mudcat occasionally - maybe she'll drop in with an answer. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Blue Murder-sung by Niamh Parsons From: GUEST,Hrothgar on another computer Date: 10 Aug 07 - 02:28 AM Not the same "Blue Murder" I think. Don't know the Hulett song well, but the chorus is something like: Day in, day out Every day they work you harder Day in, day out They're getting away with blue murder! |

Subject: Lyr Add: BLUE MURDER (Alistair Hulett) From: Geoff Wallis Date: 10 Aug 07 - 09:08 AM Here you go. Blue Murder (Alistair Hulett) They said it's easy money in a full page ad in a local rag, Always nice and sunny, come on, lad, and pack your bag, Off to West Australia, leave the old home town behind, Be a winner, not a failure, there's money to make in the Wittenoom mine. Chorus: Day in, day out, every day they drive us harder. Day in, day out, they're getting away with blue murder. They took me to my quarters, a stinking bed in an old tin shed. I got my working orders with a lamp and a tin hat on my head. Chorus My girl, she's a cook and cleaner, works all day in the canteen hall. Six days since I've seen her, some don't have no girl at all. Chorus She sweeps the fine blue dust up, tips it into an old wool pack, Never had a check-up, if she did she'd get the sack. Chorus I feel my health is failing, I work all day in the killer dust. My kids play in the tailings, the boss says work and work I must. Chorus There are plenty of Net references to Wittenoom, but the one below is pretty succinct. http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/8-21-2004-58228.asp Best, Geoff |

Joe, you're missing one of her best CDs. She came to Seattle about a year or two ago and sang most of the songs on that CD. Fantastic! Cheers, S. in Seattle |
