Subject: Receptacle From: Kenny B (inactive) Date: 14 Feb 02 - 05:21 PM I have received a CD in a 'Receptacle' from a well known music distributor (starting with Ama...). It is a wonderful piece of cardboard origami for mailing CD shaped items. What would you call this cardboard 'enveloppe' and is there a technical name for this item? |
Subject: RE: BS: Receptacle From: JeZeBeL Date: 14 Feb 02 - 05:24 PM silly f"*$(*g cardbord CD wrapper which is a b$*("+d to get into. I think. Don't quote me on that one though. |

Subject: RE: BS: Receptacle From: JohnInKansas Date: 14 Feb 02 - 05:47 PM Kenny I hate to be serious, after previous replies; but you can find your "device" or something very similar at most larger office supply stores - under the name "CD Mailer." Look somewhere near either "envelopes" or close to where they stock CD-R & CE-R/W blanks. John |

Subject: RE: BS: Receptacle From: Kenny B (inactive) Date: 14 Feb 02 - 06:20 PM Thanks to ALL who have replied and in the spirit you have replied. To Jez all I would say is hold the CD-Mailer in one hand, An OLD table knife or letter opener in the other , Insert the table knife between the rear overlap and the body of the CD-mailer Using an upward slicing motion away from your body at an angle of approximately 20 degrees to the body of the CD-Mailer prise and slice the mailer open. If this does not work. repeat as instructed If this still does not work go back to the method you previously used *G* ;>) Thanks again Kenny B |
Subject: RE: BS: Receptacle From: artbrooks Date: 14 Feb 02 - 08:09 PM And, after you have totally trashed the mailer, and you decide that your new CD has become the jewel of your music collection, you can also find plastic CD cases ("jewel cases") at your local office supply store. Look in computer supplies. |
Subject: RE: BS: Receptacle From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 14 Feb 02 - 09:01 PM Yeah, except now it seems like all they're making is candy-colored SLIM jewell cases that don't have any SPINE to them, so when you file them away, you can't read the spine to know what the CD is. This is progress? Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: Receptacle From: Steve in Idaho Date: 15 Feb 02 - 11:46 AM No kidding Jerry - I've been looking for real CD holders for months now. What I've started doing is redoing the labels on the CDs themselves with LARGE letters saying what it is so I can find it quickly on the visor holder. Steve |
