Before I go putting them up on Ebay I thought I oughtta give Mudcatters a chance to consider the following.

I have decided to sell my Santa Cruz 000 and my (Deering) Vega Longneck banjo. These are both beautiful instruments, in excellent condition and I will be posting them one at a time on Ebay over the next few weeks ... but I thought I'd post this thread, just in case there are any Mudcatters who might wish to talk to me about them - before they up for auction.

I can answer questions here - or you can PM me.

How much are you asking for the banjo?

Well - I see that Elderley has priced it at $3020. I suspect I can sell it on Ebay for $2500 or so. 'course it may not be too smart to be talking price in public like this! ;-)

In truth, if I was looking to maximize my profits I'd have simply gone to Ebay. If you are interested for real send me a PM. We can talk.

Jed:

Why not give the Mudcat Auction a try? Just set your base price for starters. Who knows?

Is the 000 a 12-fret slothead or the yucky modern kind?

Peter.

Yeah, in the auction you can specify what percentage goes to Mudcat. At the value you are talking about, even a tiny percentage would be good for the Cat and would not take too much from you?

Why do they have to go?

Two really beautiful instruments!

Working with people who play a long-neck banjo, I've found them great for songs in E minor. The 000 guitar looks really beautiful. THe 12-fret body must give it an extra bit of volume and bottom.

Good luck with them.

Hey, Jed, I'd love to have both. Of course, I'd love to have the money to pay for them, as well, and I don't. Good luck to you, I hope they find a loving home. regards, Chance

I'm not into small guitars, but,if I were, I'd grab a Santa Cruz at first chance! They make one of the finest guitars in the world.
