Now we've got our breath back from the Ralph McTell support (work hard and your dreams CAN come true!), here's some news of upcoming gigs and a radio appearance.

Remember that we now tour two shows: "Julie Ellison in Concert" and "Julie Ellison's Pub Crawl".

1) Radio Interview:

3) "Julie Ellison in Concert"

A really special gig in prospect on Thursday 26 August 2004 at:

The Jug & Barrel, 56 - 58 Town Street, Stanningly, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS28 6EZ

Starting time: 8:30pm - doors open at 8:00pm
Finishing time: 11:00pm

Admission: £4.00 (£3.50 with a flyer)

Julie is very pleased to announce special guests Rosie Clegg from The Rosie Clegg Band and Alex Eden from Crosscut Saw. Alex and Rosie will each do a solo set of about 30 minutes, thus giving an evening of continuous music from 8:30pm(allowing only time for very short turn-arounds between artists).

The Jug and Barrel is an established music venue in Leeds with a very useful 'concert room' separate from the main bar. We are hoping that the audience will be a listening one so, this time around, we are promoting this as an 'In Concert' performance.

This event promises music ranging from Irish folk through ragtime guitar to urban blues, with a little hint of classical and maybe even bluegrass along the way. Don't miss it !!

Doors will open at 8.00 p.m. with Rosie Clegg starting the show at 8.30 p.m. Entrance fee is £4 (£3.50 with a copy of this preview or a flyer)

4) Possible charity gig in Sheffield

We have been asked if Julie would be willing to contribute to an AIDS-related funding raising event in Sheffield in August and we have said yes (of course). Just a quick note for anyone intending to go to the gig in Castleford tomorrow (25th July) - we have had to cancel due to a family illness.

Arundel Festival Fringe: The gig is now confirmed for FRIDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER, and not the 4th as previously listed.

Sheffield Charity Gig: "Oasis in the Park" to be held at Hillsborough Park, Sheffield on Sunday 22nd August, 11am - 6pm. "Fun & games for the whole family", and to raise awareness and money for SHIELD Sheffield HIV Support Group. Details are very hazy but we're going with the flow! Call me on 07813 696 527 if you need further details closer to the day.

New bookings just in:

BOMFEST, Barnsley 27th-29th August
Julie will be appearing on Friday 27th along with Maria Lynch, Nick Law and John Gomm.

BBC Radio GMR, 18th October
Interview and live performance on Ali O'Brien's "Sounds of Folk" show, 95.1 FM and 106.4 FM in the Manchester region. This show is also broadcast live on the internet.

Just heard that the "Oasis in the Park" charity event, due to be held this weekend, has had to be cancelled due the inclement weather conditions over the past few days. The council's Parks, Woodland an Countryside department have said that it is not advisable for the event to go ahead.

The event may well be rescheduled and I will post details as and when we have it.

Bob Walmsley, live from BBC Radio Leeds' Bradford studio at the Museum of Film, Photography and Television. Julie will be featuring in an interview and live performance broadcast between 2:00pm and 4:00pm.

This broadcast is on the afternoon of the Jug and Barrel gig also featuring Rosie Clegg and Alex Eden.   There may be a chance to win free entry to the gig (subject to me remembering to mention it to the presenter :-) ).

Julie Ellison's "At Last" - latest review now available

A new review of Julie's album "At Last" has been posted at "The Folk Mag" website together with one complete track, "Southbound".

"Southbound" appears to be particularly radio friendly and is currently the most frequently played track from the album having been aired on several radio shows in the UK and the USA. It also featured in Julie's latest live broadcast from BBC Radio Leeds.
