Eek. That was the thread, but don't bother clicking on the link there. Only sundry rude crap to be found now.

I can post the uke maker tomorrow, I think; I believe the maker is credited on Jake's recordings.

He's utterly mind-blowing in concert, along with being quite clearly a heck of a nice guy. A wonderful, wonderful performer.

Don't rush out to stock up on Jake's CDs just yet, though, unless you like a big band sound. He only recently stripped down his style from lots of effects and a big bunch of backup musicians to the pure style and sound you see and hear on that Web video.

I do recommend a DVD called "Play Loud Ukulele" -- not for the concert footage, which is again overorchestrated, but for the instructional part which is at once accessible and virtuoso. A rare combination, that.

A CD of just Jake playing his new, stripped-down style of uke will be launched in, I believe, September of this year. I for one can hardly wait!

For Kaleea --

Oops! Left the CD at home, but found the ukulele info on the Web instead. Casey Kamaka made it, and now has a "Jake Shimabukuro Signature Model" in production.

Here's a Web page about it.

Now I know the quality of the instrument, no ordinary Uke and no ordinary player. I never get tired of listening and watching him play truly awesome

I was about to enter the Ukulele lottery when realized that the lottery is to choose who all will win the opportunity to spend $5500 on a hundred limited Ukuleles to be made be the luthier.
