My wife plays in a five piece band. Four out of the five have PHDs.

It's not a new thought.

   I was writing on the fall-out value of doing art in school for my Post-Grad.Cert. in Education in the early 80s,based on material published before then. (See the works of Herbert Read).

   And the idea of making Art the basis of education goes back to Plato. As Read points out at the beginning of his "Education through Art",it was an idea of Plato's admired but taken up by no-one except Schiller early in the 19th century.



   Apparently,beethoven used to greet his servants with,"Good morning,stupid!"
