Subject: Good Website with 100's of Folk Links From: katlaughing Date: 01 Oct 99 - 08:58 AM This always happens. I go looking for something somebody else is looking for on here and I find something else which is totally exciting and interesting. Stumbled upon a website put up by John Henderson at Ithaca (College/University) can't remember which, but anyway, it consists mostly of annotated links to literally hundreds of folk sites including the DigiTrad. He also pays kudos to our own Art Thieme and Folk Legacy Records. This is a site I feel is well worth a peek. IT is at http://www.ithaca.edu/Library/Training/hotf.html or, click here Have fun, katlaughing |

Here's a good place for me to plug my own local friends, the Oklahoma City Traditional Music Association at http://www.octma.org. It too has a pretty good list of links to sites that may be of interest to many at mudcat. Okiemockbird (a.k.a. T in Oklahoma) |

Subject: RE: Good Website with 100's of Folk Links From: Date: 02 Oct 99 - 10:19 AM katlaughing, Thanks for your kind words about ICYouSee: F is for Folk Music. You kindly didn't mention that my link and annotation to Mudcat Cafe needs an update. We (Cornell Folk Song Club) have a Michael Cooney concert tonight, and I also have to bake three apple pies today, so I probably won't get it the update written and uploaded until tomorrow. Subject: RE: Good Website with 100's of Folk Links From: katlaughing Date: 03 Oct 99 - 12:06 AM You're all welcome. I stubbed my toe on it, just like when I found the Mudcat. John, sorry I didn't mention it. THREE APPLE PIES??? What time should we come over?**Big Grin** Wonderful site, John, thanks! Oh, and you might also want to add a link to our own Rick Fielding, master picker, teacher, songwriter, & racontuer, as well as host of Acoustic Workshop on CIUT at the University of Toronto and archived right here so that you may listen to it anytime. kat |
Subject: RE: Good Website with 100's of Folk Links From: jhenderson Date: 04 Oct 99 - 09:53 PM It took longer than I hoped, but I have updated the ICYouSee F is for Folk Music page, tested all the links, and even took some suggestions from mudcatters. The page is so long that the next time I revise it I will probably break it into half a dozen of more separate pages. I got tired of peeling and slicing apples (we have rather small ones in our back yard), so I ended up only making two pies. The Michael Cooney concert was great. He had no product to sell and didn't need a sound system, so the volunteers all had an easy time. Well, we had a pretty full house, so some of us were busy. It wa a good evening all around.
