Many thanks for such a great search engine, here at the Mudcat Cafe. I have been looking everywhere for the lyrics to "The Cremation of Sam McGee" and finally found it here.

Actually, I could not even remember the name of the ballad or the composer/author, but by searching with keywords, I was able to recognize it quickly from a resulting search list.

both great used and antiquarian booksites I was introduced to by our own Sandy Paton of Folk Legacy Records.

I recently went looking for a copy of an old book my grandmother gave me, she used to teach with; had grand stories in it. My copy, which is lost somewhere in this house, was the only one I'd ever seen, so I was SURE nobody would have it. Went to Bibliofind and found about 25 copies of varying condition and editions!

does anyone remember a singer named debbie mcClatchie ? i heard her sing in philadelphia many of services' songs, and right well too. always wondered if she produced any albums. i saw her twice at a place called vintage insturments. she was also a caterer of some renown. a lovely woman. just the right amount of chill homour in her voice.--doodlezak

Now if you'd come to the FSGW Getaway in October, not only would you have had a chance to see Debby McClatchy (and about 40-odd other Mudcatters), but you could also have sampled her catering! She is alive and well and has self-produced a couple of albus in the past few years. This year, she is very busy singing for sesquicentennial celebrations of the California Gold Rush of 1849, since her father's family were some of the more famous '49ers.
