So, I heard a tune on the radio the other day and the announced gave no info about the song. I have a recording available if it's necessary, but for now I'd like to avoid breaking possible copyright laws, so I'll just post the lyrics. If I had to make I guess, I'd say the title was "Its Marked Within the Bible that my Daddy Gave Me." It's a bluegrass gospel song.

Lyrics:
A faded Bible that is worn but very dear to me
The Bible that my daddy read and taught me to believe
I know the place that Jesus said to those that do believe
It's marked within the Bible that my daddy gave to me

They didn't mention a year or who it was by; they just transitioned from one song to the next.

Thank you BigDaddy, but that appears to not be the right song. I found this link online of the lyrics and it appears not to be it, though I can't see the whole lyrics. Thanks for the suggestion though.

At long last, I've found out who the song is by!

I've recently been buying records of a North Carolina group called The Briarhoppers; when they first formed, they were based out of the radio station WBT in Charlotte, North Carolina, and performed around the area for several years, eventually re-forming with the original members in the late 1970s-80s for a few recordings for posterity.

I bought the record Whitey and Hogan (with the Briarhoppers) Volume 1 (Old Homestead OHS-90089), 1981, and while listening through it, lo and behold, there it was! After all these years, I recognized it instantly.

The song is titled "The Bible My Daddy Left Me." According to the liner notes, it was written by the members of the Briarhoppers in 1947 but was unreleased until the release of the aforementioned record.
