I sent the following to Kimberly-Clark via their website :

"I purchased women's underwear (FIT-FLEX; beige or ecru in colour - I am colour blind) for a female relative. These do not "cover" like the previous white underwear. They ride high on the hip and do not have the same flexibility in the waist band so they are an inferior product compared to the previous product. I will be buying other brands in an attempt to find something similar to the previous white underwear. The UPC of the previous underwear is 3600019668. I hope this feedback will encourage you to revisit this "improvement"."

They sent me two $3 coupons applicable to eight of their products... one being the underwear, even though I had said I didn't want a coupon for an inferior product when they said they would send me "a coupon" in a response email (kind of them). The only one of these products I might use is Kleenex tissues and that is somewhat inferior when compared to P&G Puffs.

So. Anyone know of a good brand of such underwear? That would do service for a ninety year old lady?

They even changed the name from Depends to Depend. Apparently, they can't take a joke.

gnu, try phoning a few medical supply places to see what they suggest.

Often if you look at alternative suppliers they'll still have some of the variety you want in stock. Try online via Amazon or eBay. The UPC code you posted doesn't fit anything at the KC site.

Good ideas, # and Acme. They "improved" the women's Depends so that is why the UPC is no longer valid.

Four or five years ago I was at a store with her when they were on sale. She bought three packages. Of course, being a good Boy Sprout, after I delivered her home, I immediately went back and bought three more packages. I did not tell her as I knew she would be upset with me for buying "too far ahead" but she is a happy camper now and, hopefully, these three packages will last her through at least the same length of time.

I sent you an email, g.

Many here may be caregivers of family members with similar needs. Here's a link with useful discussion and comparison of products:

The previously referenced site also has a search tool for finding the best brand for an individual: http://www.liveanew.com/CareGiver-Partnership-LiveAnew-a/319.htm?cgp=1#

I got an email today advertising Under Armour. I thought it might be a competitor of Depends®. But alas, it isn't....

I'll bet a cancer clinic that deals with urinary issues will have some up to date insight. Some discussions related to similar issues happens at the Canadian Cancer Society's discussion forum, it might be worth a look or a request for leads.

Best of luck.

Peace, Mooh.

There are also now those tampon-like things for incontinent women, at any rate, that help put pressure on closing the urethra... a thought.

In the FWIW department, I suspect a 90-year-old will have no interest in mastering a new device. The proven technology (no-tech) will be the best. Good luck with finding a good source.
