Subject: RE: Happy Easter From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 04 Apr 26 - 05:58 PM here in the Land of Oz it's approaching breakfast time on Easter Sunday! On Friday I cracked open a painted egg (yum!) created by one of my musician friends who brought a dozen to band practice. Subject: RE: Happy Easter From: GUEST,henryp Date: 05 Apr 26 - 06:37 AM Happy Easter to all from Lancashire. Easter Day, and it's quite warm in the morning sunshine, although we've just had a brief hail shower. But it was a windy night as Storm Dave passed over. Bargeboards and ridge tiles have been blown off the houses next door. Egg rolling in Avenham Park, Preston, tomorrow. The Council has made repeated efforts to organise the event, but families are happy just to do their own thing. Chocolate eggs wrapped in foil have largely replaced the traditional decorated hard-boiled eggs, though they barely roll at all on the grassy slopes leading down to the River Ribble. And while you will not see many hard-boiled eggs, animal rights group PETA has urged Preston Council to replace them with decorated potatoes. Surely the egg is a symbol of spring! Visitors to Avenham Park can also see the handsome New Tram Bridge - actually a footbridge - which now spans the River Ribble, and which will be officially opened later this spring. |

Subject: RE: Happy Easter From: pattyClink Date: 05 Apr 26 - 09:53 AM Here the sun is now up over the western rangeland. Cattle are grazing outside my fence. Inside, rabbits are grazing on green leaves of various plants, and quite a few of the plants are in bloom now. My two small trees, which had each been whacked down by a prior idiot resident, have regenerated and are greening up. A good morning to appreciate life renewing itself. Happy Easter! |
