Well, Rick, it's only about 4" of snow, and there's a nice firm crust of ice on top. I can't bake a cherry pie...but my beef stew's awfully nice...

And when are you and Duckboots coming down?

Vixen, I'd trudge through 10 feet of snow for you. Looks like we're headin' south in April. I'll keep ya posted.

I'd say you'd be better off to head south now, except they are in pretty bad shape down south from the looks of things Rick.

I got a message from Bill and he was still at bbc's but I don't know when they are leaving Vix. The snow and the road conditions kinda' halted some of their plans and they aren't making it out here. I am sending a message to Animaterra's e-mail since I thought he was going to leave bbc's earlier.

HEY BILL----Where ARE you going to be????....Sorry you couldn't make it here this time, you could have helped with the flooring!!!(:<))

Talked to bbc Sunday night and my recollection of the conversation is that they are leaving bbc's on Thursday, going to vixen's on Thursday, and heading to animaterra's on Friday. I think that's the way the conversation went ... moonchild

Spaw, I just think Bill suspects I'm cuter than you. He & Lorna were having such a lovely time relaxing that they stayed till almost noon today (Wed.), when they *had* expected to leave Monday am. In addition to my charming appearance, lovely personality (& modesty), we've had a bit of snow in this area & they thought it the better part of valor to delay & not go so far afield. They really *do* want to come & meet you, spaw. Their plan is to drive through Mystic, Connecticut & spend the night w/ Vixen. They hope to get to Susan A-R's in Vermont, weather permitting, & then end up w/ Animaterra in New Hampshire. They have been having an absolutely wonderful time experiencing Mudcat hospitality. Perhaps the new locator page will help more of us do the same.

Affirmative on the Sables' expected arrival on Friday. Vixen, if you don't hear from them, you can expect them when they said they'd come. Same thing happened to me when Bill was around in July- showed up right when he'd told me he would! I can't wait- we'll warm the frozen north on Saturday. Hope some of you can come (see related thread: Sables farewell party).

In case you folks check this thread and are worried about travel, just remember that Vermonters are acustomed to dealing with snow, and as long as you allow time, you should be just fine getting here tomorrow. I'll send a personal message to Vixen with phone number at home in case things get delayed, but we are good at ploughin up here. Looking forward to MY turn.
