Dutch Shantymen visiting UK now!

Shantymen Kaap Hoorn, the shanty group with which my brother-in-law Rob sings, is at present in the UK on a short singing and sightseeing tour of places of interest, including Hull (!)

If anyone is in the vicinity of their remaining performances, that is Robin Hood's Bay, Whitby, Scarborough and Hull, do go along and make them welcome, please. You'll hear them from some distance…

Saturday 29 September

11.00 Impromptu performance at The Bay Hotel, Robin Hoods Bay
12.00 Impromptu performance in The Victoria Hotel, Robin Hoods Bay; Lunch in the hotel.
14.00 Trip to sea on the old Whitby Lifeboat
15.00 Impromptu performance in The Ship Inn, Whitby
17.00 Choir official performance The Cellars, Scarborough
20.00 Supper at the Scarborough Yacht Club; Choir gala performance Scarborough Yacht Club

Sunday 30 September

16.00 Impromptu performance in The Green Brick pub in Hull, by the waterfront.

Sounds like a good place to be but sorry, Noreen, I'm just about to leave to drive to Liverpool to sing Shanties for the weekend! So pity I missed them!

Hence my desire to send a representative to heckle instead of me. My children will be there in Robin Hoods Bay, joining in the choruses. Hope it all goes well, Rob and all.

They are a great mob, went down tremendously at Walton last year and the year before.
