open mike to answer your question it is the Oregon Old Time Fiddlers Association State Convention and you will hear probably all types of music from the 1700s t0 the present.Whoever has the lead determines the song and nobody hogs the mike everyone shares. There will be 3 to 400 people here and there will be groups of 5 to 20 scattered all over at least two fair buildings and if the weather is good they will be all over the parking lot.All musicians and singers take their turn in whatever group you are playing in and if you want to go to another group do so for that is what it is all about FUN Louie

The California State Fiddle Cahmpionships will be held in Oroville
On April 11 and 12. this is a contest, and many folks from within
and without California will be there. the parking lot will be filled with music before during and after the contest, and I will possibly
be hosting a radio show on the saturday of that weekend.
Is the Oregon event also a contest, with competition, etc?
is there a web site for more info?
the California info place is:

There is no contest just a lot of jamming ---singing ---dancing and everyone is invited to join in and you don't need an invitation to join in on any group playing and there will be many all over the fairgrounds.there is also a sign up program Wednesday nite March 12 and 13 when you can show your talent and the public is cordially invited Louie Roy
