Subject: RE: BS: Dubya's Doubles From: DougR Date: 27 Mar 03 - 05:16 PM What a waste of newspaper space. Since it's "The Guardian," though, I guess it doesn't matter much. Certainly can't blame it on being a slow news day. DougR |

Subject: RE: BS: Dubya's Doubles From: katlaughing Date: 27 Mar 03 - 05:35 PM Perhaps it is a Tony Blair lookalike, too, so that neither knows the difference? Think their wives notice? Or is it Stepford all over again?! Oh, no! |
Subject: RE: BS: Dubya's Doubles From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 27 Mar 03 - 05:42 PM The irony deficit strikes again I see... Guardian cartoonist today introduced a Tony Blair lookalike into his "If" strip, talking about peace and backing tye UN and all that. Or maybe it's the real Tony Blair who has turned up at last... |
Subject: RE: BS: Dubya's Doubles From: NicoleC Date: 27 Mar 03 - 05:49 PM You can complain about Blair all you want, but listening to the Bush/Blair news conference this morning I was downright envious. *Your* head of state can actually form coherent sentences and intelligence arguments without resorting to religious hyperbole. |
Subject: RE: BS: Dubya's Doubles From: nickp Date: 28 Mar 03 - 07:38 AM But I thought Bush's mangling of our (semi) shared language was a deliberate ploy to make him seem more home-y and trustworthy *grin* Nick |
Subject: RE: BS: Dubya's Doubles From: daithi Date: 28 Mar 03 - 09:45 AM Not wishing to nit pick, Nickp, but Blair is not the British Head of State remember. They have a Queen....(save the gags) ;^} D |
Subject: RE: BS: Dubya's Doubles From: nickp Date: 28 Mar 03 - 10:13 AM Touche, Daithi - but I can't help feeling he thinks he is! |
Subject: RE: BS: Dubya's Doubles From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 28 Mar 03 - 05:07 PM Blair has probably significantly reduced the street-cred of those who would get rid of the Queen as Head of State. Just as Thatcher did in her day. And the clincher tends to be to advise people to look across the Atlantic and look at that for a Head of State. |

Subject: RE: BS: Dubya's Doubles From: Amos Date: 29 Mar 03 - 10:48 AM I thought it was a verry droll column, if a somewhat easy trick. A |
