I have officially declared it to be so, therefore it is. So everyone please come from near and far. I think we'll have from 7 to 10 MC's and who knows, maybe more. It can be a bit of a challenge to get here, as it is about 2.5 hours from Portland and 3.5 from Seattle. You can get here by public transportation and from Seattle it is dirt cheap..like under $10...that assumes you can find the bus schedules to get you to Olympia before 9:30 or so. From Olympia you take a bus to Aberdeen, and then Pacific Transit all the way to the camp. From Portland you have to make you rway to Astoria, and then can take a cheap (50 cent) bus all the way to camp. It is the weekend of cranberry festival and I'll post the url later..they do offer some music there too.

I am flabbergasted..I got a check in the mail today. I was totally unprepared for anything this early..and I know it is payback for how late I have applied and paid for camps in the past.

Anyway, it should be a lot of fun..a simple time...simple buildings in a very beautiful setting, simple but I think fairly good meals, and other things going on for friends or family that aren'tinto nonstop music.

Dates are October 8, 9 and 10. Get a little group up from California...this probably will be a smaller group than most are used to at camps..maybe around 30 or so is what we ahve been running...but the setting is absolutely beautiful. we are back at the original funky camp on willapa Bay, not where we were last year. This also coincides with a little music and history event that Hobe Kytr puts on nearby..so hopefully people will stop by his event on the way in or out and their musicians can join us for a meal or something. This is where your cranberries come from you know, as well as your salmon, some of it...(oh if you fish there are salmon charters nearby). And the ocean is about 2 miles away..lots of country roads for biking...I am working on updating the web page..I posted in anotehr thread and will post it here sooner or later.

As it gets closer, we'll talk about cell phones etc...I don't personally have them...if it is international I am not sure how unlimited minutes etc. work...but if there were charges you could work them out with someone hopefully.

Also, it turns out that is the day that the Astoria Bridge is closed, at least in the morning, so people can walk across it. It is probably about 20 miles or so..no more like 30 I guess from camp, if that is one of the goals on your to-achieve list. I used to walk at least partway over teh Longview bridge growing up so I don't personally feel the need. Also, take it into account in planning your trip...it is probably open a couple of hours but I am not sure.


And if you want mud, we have famous mud, Willapa Bay mud that can envour you...mg

One can always get there by the washington side, which is a nice scenic drive.
