Subject: RE: Seamus K. @ 'Bound for Glory' From: wysiwyg Date: 06 Mar 06 - 09:21 AM That Seamus. I'm fed up! Thinks he can get away with offering the same damn thing, every time. I can't take it anymore! The perfectly relaxed showmanship. The perfect song choices for the audience that shows up. The insistence on including a song from every song style he's ever heard, and doing them all as his own with great effect. The jokes I've never heard, the songs I would never suspect he knows. The way he gets us all singing along on something we've never heard before (as if knew the words as well as he does-- well, actually, we probably do)! As if that weren't enough, there's the warm and sparkling craic between the sets, all-day hugs squashed into a brief moment, AND the voice that never quits. It's just not right. And to think I used to gush about the man! ~Susan |

Subject: RE: Seamus K. @ 'Bound for Glory' From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 06 Mar 06 - 05:21 PM Susan, you forgot the fast, flashy hot-shit guitar pickin'. And the incredible synchronicity and syncopation of my fast, flashy hot-shit bodhrán playin'. And all on live radio, too! I mean, if you're gonna gush girl, gush right! It was great seeing you and Hardi and Mmario last night. Thanks for coming out to the show. Seamus |

Subject: RE: Seamus K. @ 'Bound for Glory' From: GUEST,Dani Date: 06 Mar 06 - 05:58 PM Shoot!! SHOOT!! My sister lives in Ithaca and they would have LOVED to catch this. I'm sorry to not have known about it: too many threads, so little time... Glad it was good for all involved. I promise to watch more carefully next time. Dani |

Subject: RE: Seamus K. @ 'Bound for Glory' From: wysiwyg Date: 06 Mar 06 - 06:23 PM Well, Seamus :~) .... if I were going to relive it ALL in sufficient detail to have recalled THAT-- then I'd have had to describe the persistent hip thrusts as well, and as you know I am a sedately married lady whose husband also was in attendance. BTW, I thought it REALLY unfair that you had on the same cologne he wears. AND dressed all in black in the same twill trousers he wears to work-- but shortly into the first set we relaized we were right not to have brought you Hardi's spare tab collar! (I felt really badly that our week had been so arduous that we could not stay after the show to keep you company for a bit-- you really were just getting warmed up, I thought; but take some confort in knowing we made the trip on our longest, hardest day of the week.) Dani, I am not sure where in Ithaca, but I understand that next Saturday Sparky and Rhonda Rucker have a show booked. Or, you can send her to our Gathering next weekend-- we're about an hour and three quarters south of Ithaca. ~Susan |

Subject: RE: Seamus K. @ 'Bound for Glory' From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 06 Mar 06 - 11:59 PM Susan, Ohmigod, women really CAN smell that stuff!? Guys just use it instead of showering! Hardi has the same taste in after -shave/shower that I do. (Like I noticed.) Wow, what are the odds? I'm still honored that you guys and Mmario showed up. Three people is better than no audience at all! Seamus |

Subject: RE: Seamus K. @ 'Bound for Glory' From: wysiwyg Date: 07 Mar 06 - 12:06 AM Oh Seamus, HE noticed YOU, so of course it would only be right if YOU had, too! :~) And me, thinking I was surrounded by chick magnets-- Hardi, Mmario, and the one and only King of the Daft, Dr. Seamus FN Kennedy! ~S~ |

Subject: RE: Seamus K. @ 'Bound for Glory' From: MMario Date: 07 Mar 06 - 09:22 AM Yeah - like you didn't pack the room even though you were up against the Oscars! Thanks for the great entertainment and for letting me bend your ear about woes and troubles - I practically had to be given resucitation at one point during the show - I was laughing so hard I couldn't breath. And 'Grace' gets me every time - thanks again for singing it. |
