The latest bunch of floods this last weekend have been further South and West of Warwick. Warwick Folk festival's own site has got a page for late news, including weather conditions. The say that so far there is not a problem with the festival site. http://warwickfolkfestival.co.uk/news.shtml. Their weather report is dated today. The Environment Agency has a Flood Warning page for the Midlands. At time of this posting the River Avon between Rugby (Quite a long way upstream from Warwick) and Salford Priors (Downstream from Stratford-On-Avon) is on flood watch. Of course that doesn't mean that there will be a problem at Warwick even if there are some flooded locations on the Avon. Of course, it isn't necessarily local weather conditions which cause the problems. A number of people including performers didn't get to Saddleworth Festival because they were stuck in the floods a hundred miles south of Saddleworth. I have just had a chat with the rest of the campsite setup crew, we will all be going at are normal times. The only difficulty I can see is that the rail station appears to be closed. Certainly I remember after that amazing storm last year the site drained very quickly - so unless there is another really big change in the weather conditions I am sure we well all have a great time. The campsite is fine, water supplies in Warwick have not been disrupted. Please do not arrive until friday as instructed on your tickets. Contractors,set up teams and the like are there now and there are contingency plans set up as well. The stewards who always do a great job may have a slightly harder time this year because of the problems, so please bear with them, they have job to do to ensure that the damage to the field is kept to a minimum for everyones benefit.
