Michael Morpurgo is certainly poular just now! His award-winning novel, Private Peaceful, will be the Saturday Play at 14.30, Saturday 4th February on BBC Radio 4. You can Listen Again on BBC iplayer.

It's been dramatised by Simon Reade and has music by Coope Boyes & Simpson. Full details and cast list (including Nicholas Lyndhurst as Sgt Hanley and Michael Morpurgo as Vicar) are here -

To answer the question on the other thread. No, it's a new adaptation of 'Private Peaceful' - the earlier one was Michael Morpurgo narrating his own (shortened) version of his story. The play is an adaptation of the story by Simon Reade and is acted rather than a narration.

Coope Boyes & Simpson provide the music for both though.

Just finished listening to this, half an hour ago!
It was even better than I had expected, given that I had been looking forward to it all week. Make sure you access "Listen again" if you're in the UK and you can!

I wish more radio drama had a traditional music leit-motif embedded in them....
