Well all you ladies gather 'round
He likes a stick of candy just nine inch long
All heard what sister Johnson said
Don't stand close to the candy man
He sold some candy to sister Bad
If you try his candy, good friend of mine,
His stick candy don't melt away Spaw __________

(riiiiiiiight, for what good it would do) Sorry Joe, we're a little over the top tonight. |

Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Candy Man by Mississippi John From: catspaw49 Date: 14 Feb 01 - 12:23 AM Good catch......I copied that direct from the site and didn't read it carefully........I'll get someone to change it before it gets harvested. It is good that you spent some time up north Ol' Buddy.........I mean like we got us 26 alphabet letters and all, whereas Mississippi only has one that they use three times..................... Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Candy Man by Mississippi John From: ddw Date: 14 Feb 01 - 12:36 AM Jeepman — the name of your thread is Lyr/Chords Req. Do you need the chords? They're pretty simple — just a long A (index finger 1,2,3,4S, 2F and little finger 1S, 5F) and E7. The grace notes make the guitar interesting and they're simple — still in the long A, hammer on 2S, 3F and then walk down on the 5S from the 5F to the 2F. The break is pretty simple, too. I don't do exactly what MJH does on it; I just use a D configuration up to the 9F, rock it to the 8F and back to 9F. Do a 6S slide all the way down going into the E7 and then back to long A. It sounds a lot harder than it really is. cheers, david P.S. I hope I've described it properly — don't have a guitar right now to check on all the position, but I think that's right.
