Albert Einstein on consciousness:

A human being is a part of the whole, called by us Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest-a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.

OH! Have you asked the cobra its preference; think they wanna cuddle with a saggy windy bottom tortoise? Or, I know, maybe we could send one of them to your creditors!? I'll bet a boa constrictor would be better, though, so they learn how ta really squeeze blood out of a turnip, eh?**BG**

Sheesh! I find this deep thought, think all kinds of hunky-dory things will be posted in response and in you come...whoosh! Teaching us all about keeping it in balance, huh?

hey send along that boa to MY creditors aswell kat. Maybe then they'll let me out of the payment due on my car today. The thought was a beautiful one though sometimes a little difficult to put into practice, but something I will try to do today and onwards.

Come to think of it a guy named Francis said something similar a few centuries earlier.

Embracing all forms of life in consciousness as a way of breaking out of the prison bars of personal individuated isolation is a different scheme altogether from welching on debt. Quite the contrariwise!

You can't transcend barriers without responsibility -- it's the lack of responsibility that creates them, generally!

Personally, I like the creditor thing!

But no dice, guys. I've tried that!

They must have lived before and spanned all levels of consciousness, for they don't fall for anything!

Not being able to transcend barriers without responsibilities is just what they told me, too.

So, amos, how much do I owe you?

Nifty forum by the way.

Kat,
I had a Jehovah Witness lady telling me and my son about Paradise. I believe in hearing everyone out at least once. How the lion will lie down with the lamb and we will not have to fear the lion. My question (which went unasked) was "Are we then all going to starve to death?" That is a serious question. How do we embrace all nature and living creatures with affection and survive?

No Spaw. Soylent Green is not the answer.

If you ever get bitten by a snake on your arse and you urgently need someone to suck the poison out - it's then you find who your real friends are!

other bits from Albert Einstein:

'The important thing is not to stop questioning'

'I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called 'religious' then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.'

Wolfgang
