Subject: Anyone going to Croxdale , Durham (UK) ? From: Carol Date: 24 Jun 08 - 08:39 AM Yes, it's this weekend, it's actually called Durham Traditional Music Weekend ran by Fred Brierley. It's a small, 'intimate' festival! PM me for further details. |
Subject: RE: Anyone going to Croxdale , Durham (UK) ? From: Marilyn Date: 24 Jun 08 - 11:48 AM Going to Dent this weekend but would have been very interested had we known about it earlier. We snatch any excuse to visit "God's own country" because we all love the area so much. Is there any chance that next year details could be posted a lot earlier (say in Feb or March?) please? |

Subject: RE: Anyone going to Croxdale , Durham (UK) ? From: Brother Crow Date: 26 Jun 08 - 09:29 AM I have one at home - I'll try and get it posted here tonight. I can tell you, though, that the very funny George Welsh/Stuart Hardy, and the fab Ian McKone are in the Saturday night concert... ...most of the weekend, it's the singarounds that seem to be the most popular. These are held at the Community Centre. Graeme, Brother Crow. |
Subject: RE: Anyone going to Croxdale , Durham (UK) ? From: MoorleyMan Date: 26 Jun 08 - 11:14 AM Hoping to be there for the Sat afternoon sings at least. Looking forward to seeing you again Bro Crow and Carol. |
Subject: RE: Anyone going to Croxdale , Durham (UK) ? From: Carol Date: 26 Jun 08 - 12:50 PM And the sinarounds!! go on over the whole weekend - with breaks for snoozes I think |
Subject: RE: Anyone going to Croxdale , Durham (UK) ? From: Dave Sutherland Date: 02 Jul 08 - 04:29 AM Did anyone go, are there any reports? I did a couple of years hard labour for Crown Prince Freddie and his festivals way back in my younger days and I'm seriously interested how things have progressed under his stewardship. |
Subject: RE: Anyone going to Croxdale , Durham (UK) ? From: Carol Date: 02 Jul 08 - 04:47 AM Yes, I stayed in the singarounds and enjoyed my weekend, plus meeting up with some friends I don't see very often. I was told that the Saturday evening concert was great, George Welch + Stewart Hardy (I think) were great, very funny and the Ceilieh (?spelling) on the Sunday evening seemed well attended. |
Subject: RE: Anyone going to Croxdale , Durham (UK) ? From: Brother Crow Date: 02 Jul 08 - 05:05 AM We went on Saturday afternoon... The singarounds were well attended, and as usual, Fred did a stirling job organising this small friendly festival... ...though modesty prohibits us from mentioning who won both the "Tommy Armstrong Song Writing" trophey and the "James Hill Tune Writing Trophy"... ;-) Graeme and Andy, Brother Crow. |
