Subject: Singing in the bath? From: Mr Happy Date: 13 Dec 02 - 06:56 AM to knowledgeable people out there- if a pel is needed for pubs where people sing etc- where do people stand when they're sining in the bath? do they need to apply for one first or can they be prosecuted even if no one else is there to be entertained? |

Subject: RE: Singing in the bath? From: nutty Date: 13 Dec 02 - 07:39 AM I think that sining in the bath is something I would happily pay the price for. Thats if I can chose the person I sin with :o) |

Subject: RE: Singing in the bath? From: greg stephens Date: 13 Dec 02 - 08:43 AM At the moment youre OK if there's only two, it's the baignade a trois situation that could put you up against the PEL problem. However, in my experience you're generally thinking of other things than music when in that situation. The new regulations due to be debated shortly may well include legal implications even if youre on your own, but that depends on how it goes in parliament. |

Subject: RE: Singing in the bath? From: Dead Horse Date: 13 Dec 02 - 12:22 PM And whats this about *standing in the bath*? Have you got one of those real old tin jobbies that you place in front of the fire? If it's the more modern kind, then I should suggest standing at the deep end, but beware of the taps when bending to retreive the loofah! |

Subject: RE: Singing in the bath? From: GUEST,alinact Date: 13 Dec 02 - 12:38 PM That reminds me of an old Noel Murphy joke. Bloke walks into a hotel and asks for a room with a bathroom. The receptionist asks "do you want a shower or a bath?". Thinking he/she is referring to the price, the bloke asks "What's the difference?" The receptionist replies "Well, in the shower, you stand up!" Boom Boom. Allan |

Subject: RE: Singing in the bath? From: Rapparee Date: 13 Dec 02 - 12:43 PM Legally, I think that singing the bath would mean that you are at least entertaining yourself.... Should this not be the case and singing the bath be allowed, would you need a license if you took your bath in front of an audience and received money for it? And what changes would have to be made if this were allowed? No, on further thought, I think that there should be licensed bathing, also. You Can't Be Too Careful These Days, you know. |

Subject: RE: Singing in the bath? From: mack/misophist Date: 13 Dec 02 - 07:59 PM Trivia time: I read somewhere that the first 'electronically enhanced' recording was made by accident at a new sound studio being built in New York. The technicians were about 20 feet short of the cable so, to make up the difference, they installed a speaker at one end of a large restroom and a pickup at the other. Instant smash hit; and it solved the cabling problem. How is that any different from singing in the shower? |

Subject: RE: Singing in the bath? From: Nemesis Date: 13 Dec 02 - 09:31 PM It is pefectly possible for one person and a loofah to entertain in the bath .. even behind closed doors it can still be entertaining .. and in the case of my neighbours from the other side of the party wall (maybe that's why it's called a party wall?) I'm up to 38 ways to love my loofah .. help, I'm stuck now .. |

From: Mr Happy Date: 14 Dec 02 - 02:33 PM there was an advbert on the telly this evening encouraging people to attend their local community halls & churches for signing xmas carols. if the premises doesn't have a PEL- they could all get locked up. BUT- as theres been this tv ad enciting them to break the law- then they could take legal action against the tv company [in this case S4C- welsh channel 4] any answers? [i tink mr shambles's missed this thread- i'll ask him 2] |

Subject: RE: Singing in the bath? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 15 Dec 02 - 03:59 AM Bratling sings in the bath... it's most disturbing.. she sings modern hits that were popular 25 years ago.. she won't accept that I remember them differently from then (when I was a mere slip of a girl, not much older than she is now.....), and insists I'm singing them wrongly. As for sining in the bath, it's possible, but you have to watch out for the plug. LTS |
