I finished the editing on the portion I recorded from the MudGather at Mousethief's. If anyone wants a cassette copy, send a donation to Max, and PM with your snail-mail address and I'll send you one.

it is incredible! Thank you, thank you , thank you, thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to drive a llittle over an hour to a rehearsal today and I felt like I went via the pacific northwest! A really nice mix of songs from some very talented folk;

guess you needn't bell these 'cats cause they play well with mousefolk....

{{{hugs}}} to JenEllen for sending me a real treat!

Thanks to JenEllen from this one who was there for the digital recording stuff -- I had no idea you could get any kind of recording under those conditions. Do you want us ot identify who was who, or do we leave that up to each individual? I was singing along on everything I knew; I sang "Final Trawl" sorta a cappella, with ChanteyMatt doing some gentle chords. Gotta learn the rest of those "Old Settler" verses ...

Folks - you are in for a treat....I think this tape says a lot about the MudCat Cafe and mudcatters --- and just wait until you hear the whole scenario around "Your majesty - we are incompetent!" *grin*

(Mrrzy - I'm not telling you anything when I say you have a treasure there!)

If you use the quicklinks at the top, there is one called "Contact Us". That will give you addresses. If you send something to Max, just drop me a PM with your address and I'll send a tape off to you, okay?

one of his majesty's incompetents,

Got my tape, thanks! Now all I need is a tape deck... sure to be one around somewhere.

Meanwhile, it has occurred to me that not only was this my first family plane trip where I was the adult instead of the child, but likely my last. I can't imagine wanting to get on a plane for fun, with my kids, now, somehow. So I am even MORE mad at the traffic around Portland for making me so late to this gathering! Can't, of course, have had anything to do with my plans and what I was trying to squeeze in...

No of course not, Mrrzy...it was my lack of a sense of direction...

I'm going to experiment with reading the songs into Cool Edit, and then burning them onto a CD ('cos I got no tape player in the car, just a CD!)

If it works, I'll provide the CD's to people donating to the Mudcat on a similar basis to JenEllen's (PM me with the details wouldja?).

Unfortunately my tapes were a dismal failure so I'm glad the digital recording came out so well! I need to get some REAL microphones, I'm thinking.

Alex

It was with great pleasure that I found this tape waiting in the mail for me when I returned from Strawberry.

Thank you so much JenEllen.

I'm really sorry I was unable to make it to Sumner,it does sound like it was too much fun.

BTW, what is the fate of the MudDrum? Has it been sent on to make the full rounds?
