Who is going to Saltburn FF this weekend?

For those who have not been before it's a good festival with a decent line-up in an interesting place. (It wasn't me who weedkillered all the Britain in Bloom flowers!!!)

On Saturday afternoon we have an invitation to take a short (15 min) bus ride to the Watering Hole (aka The Globe) for a session. Magician would be pleased to see us. He has Waggle Dance on as Guest Beer for the weekend - and would like some more names in the Mudbook.

Orders for Mudname badges by Wednesday please. For Whitby and Bridgenorth by the 18th. PM me with requests.

Google found me saltburn folk festival website but it insists on playing music which my computer doesn't like and stops it from working, so I can't check the site out.

Think I'll have to do something about memory issues.

Only been once before, but I was really impressed with the festival, and the line up is very good.

It does indeed play a rather dreadful version of the 'Liberty Belle' at you, and doesn't give any useful information like 'Programme' - apparently there will be something there by March '03, or how to get there.

But the lineup looks interesting. Shame it's so far away.

Seemed like a good festival to me - first visit. One or two minor things I could do without, and catters should always be aware of ANY notice that excludes liability for personal injury (or indeed death). Not only is such a notice meaningless (you cannot exclude liability for personal injury or death) the notice itself breaks the law.

I thought the thunderstorm on Sunday mroning was awesome - not much further away it was a tornado apparently and the session with Tom Napper, Pete Betts and Nick Scott et al. in the Spa was brilliant.

Old Rope String Band were hilarious as was Les Barker. Last Night's Fun were brilliant as always - one of those extra special performances that make it all worthwhile. Met loads of catters for the first time and found out how liz the sqeak gets her name - described by Les Barker as a school of dolphins and then by Old Rope as a rodent.

So long and thanks for all the fish! And you missed the Wilson Family describing me as the noise that Geordie Wilson's pig makes when struck from behind with the simple hand operated vertical earth lifter.

Seriously, it was a wonderful weekend, saw some acts I've been wanting to annoy, sorry, see for some time now, including the Old Rope String Band, who may never be the same again.

Eric Bogle was brilliant - his last set of the day had me crying with laughter (Gomez the Chihuahua) and just crying (the Gift of Years) and he looks fab.... as did his 'band', a chap called John Campbell.

Here's to next year?!

Agreed Liz - it was super! Highlights for me were Marie Little, Anthony John Clarke, Eric Bogle, and a young duo - Shona Kipling and Damien O'Keefe (I think that's his name).

As Saltburn has no central meeting place, you can miss people completely as I did with you and Geoff, Ali.
