Subject: Auction- English Concertina CDs From: dick greenhaus Date: 21 Oct 08 - 12:07 PM The publisher of English International--an astound 3-CD compilation of music performed on the Enlish Concertina--has donated a copy for the Mudcat Auction (all proceeds to Mudcat). An amazing, IMO, collection; a suitable companion to the highly acclaimed Anglo International set. |

Subject: RE: Auction- English Concertina CDs From: Alan Day Date: 22 Oct 08 - 03:08 AM Strange coincidence Dick,Joel "Love Box Quartet" suggested we do a CD together. Not sure Harmonicas go together with concertinas but you can here us on Utube. As for Bag Pipe International not thought of that one,but it really is an interesting idea. No. bagpipe chanters typically use a double reed - same as an oboe. Some are single reed. None that I know of are 'free' in the sense of chopping of the airflow to generate sound. |
