the song make me chuckle maybe it will to someone else
took me two days to figure out his picking

Nice job Dan, you do justice to the original, which is one of my faves.

I hadn't heard it before, either--when you told me on Facebook you had a new song, I found it on your site and listened to it, thinking you had written it and I was amazed by your wonderful turn to humor, and I wondered why you didn't just rent "The Shawshank Redemption" so you could stop sniffing her panties.

Jetty Thank you!
PM me your address and I will send you my CD.

John Prine is amazing. He songs use very simple chords but his picking is so dang complex. It doesn't sound that way but there are all this little hidden things he does that is madding. The guy sure can pick and write. Mr Bruce up there does the same thing ... dang - listening to his masterpiece Fool like me ... trying to re-create it ... Boy Bruce you set the bar high my brother

Great job on the picking and singing, Dan! That's one of my favorite John Prine songs. Thank you so much for putting it out there for us!

I love JP and that one is a classic. A nice job Dan but you need to find yourself a duet partner even if it isn't Iris DeMent! LOL......Good job as usual though!!!

I was thinking the same thing Spaw. My friend Wendy who is an amazing singer and songwriter said she wanted to do the song with me. That would be a riot ... she is awesome so when she gets a chance I want to redo it as a duet. I like the song it gives me a chuckle and I can use one for sure.

Really nice Dan. Prine is an amazing songwriter. Good sense of language. I like your
fingerpickin'. (I'm partial to the style of Creole Belle).

Love it...esp. solo...so don't go getting a partner too soon.:-) (I've heard a couple of too "cutesy" versions of it by couples who did it that way on purpose and slaughtered it, imo.)

Your pickin' is incredible, too!
