I had that album, it's excellent. I remember Steve Dickinson telling me about the gig in London - was it the Royal Festival Hall?

The original members of the band wanted the music to be played, and some of them came to see us and were pleased we were playing the music,

There was an earlier (1983) album, "The Mexborough English Concertina Prize Band" released under Nigel Pickles' sole name. It's available on the usual streaming services, as is the Quartet's album.

I've got that LP — "The Mexborough English Concertina Prize Band" by Nigel Pickles. Found it back in the mid-1980s at, I think, Sandy Paton's Folk-Legacy booth at NEFFA back when the festival was in Natick, Massachusetts.

thats the way to do it, keep your head
