Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: KJ Date: 12 Aug 04 - 04:36 AM If you have a line up when performing it makes a mess of the acustics CT. |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: GUEST,Raggytash Date: 12 Aug 04 - 05:12 AM Ossen ........... when do you arrive in Whitters and for how long are you staying, I got the impression originally that you were only there for a couple of days |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: ossonflags Date: 12 Aug 04 - 05:53 AM Raggy, me and Mrs.Ossonflags plan to be at the Whitters for next Thursday, having spent a day or five camping in the Dales or Northumberland - whatever is the less waterlogged. We will be staying right through to the end of the following week. The line up for tonight and tomorrow will be; Antoine,Skipjack playing his mobile Halle light orchestra, the lovely Richard Wasling........... and Me. 9.00pm start both nights . |

Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: The DeanMeister Date: 12 Aug 04 - 09:39 AM Well, I always did fancy that SkipjackK8 fella. All for me grog, me jolly, jolly grog, that's what I say. What's my name again? I'll get me coat... |

Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: s6k Date: 12 Aug 04 - 07:27 PM it was really nice9 |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: Skipjack K8 Date: 12 Aug 04 - 07:38 PM The delightful Sweetfia dignified the event with her patronage, and as s6k has stated in the erudite bi-polar reviewing system favoured by our local gentry, it was really nice9. That Richard Waslin's a nice fella, innee? |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: Little Hawk Date: 12 Aug 04 - 07:49 PM Hi, Oaklet! Bugger the owl. How goes it? Have you heard any word of the fair Ms Rutledge? I declared on another thread that I would happily crawl naked through flaming barbed wire to kiss her lilywhite hand. Alas, she is far way across the briny sea. |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: Skipjack K8 Date: 12 Aug 04 - 07:54 PM Little Hawk, I am loth to set your passions further afire, but I suspect that the one you know as the winsome PR is in fact masquerading here as Sweetfia. I have never seem them in the same room at the same time, and whenever Penny is visible here, Sweetfia is strangely indisposed. I put it tou you, sir, that they are one and same! |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: Little Hawk Date: 13 Aug 04 - 01:09 AM Gad! I wonder if that is so! Emasculate the vulture! Crepe the ape! Batten the hatches! I must make a trip to England and find out! |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: el ted Date: 13 Aug 04 - 03:47 AM Another rollicking, boisterous, foot tapping performance by PTH or what? With the added extras of mandola, banjo, harmonica, djembe, second guitar and a supercharged electronic accordian the size of my house! It was such a jolly night, PTH played acoustically rght through the interval between their two sets, and isn't the new line up the most handsome ever? |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 13 Aug 04 - 03:52 AM there at Durty Nellys, High Street, tonight, i might go if i'm not doing nowt. |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: The DeanMeister Date: 13 Aug 04 - 05:16 AM It sounds like Skippy and my auld mate Wastling hit it off, then? Excellent. I spoke to Rich yesterday. He said "what's Skip like? I've never played with him before!" I told him to take his guitar and that they'd get on like a house on fire. Evidently this occurred! Continued good luck for thie evening, gentlemen. |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: ossonflags Date: 13 Aug 04 - 05:25 AM Ted, you are one of the finest, honest and erudite chaps I have had the privilige to meet and your review of last nights performance by us was excellant and absolutly non - grovelly. Thanks a million to you and your lot for turning up also Richard and mates, Chrissy and sister, Pip and Merry, Kev and Merial and every one else to numorous to mention. Hope to see you all at the "Durty Nellies" tonight for more of the same. |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: Les from Hull Date: 13 Aug 04 - 01:24 PM I might go if I doin' nowt. |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: ossonflags Date: 14 Aug 04 - 04:09 AM What a cracking night at the "Durty Nellies" sauna !! All hands on splendid form, venue packed to the rafters.Lovely to see "Whispering" Chris Mullins and Sheila and the venerable windswept Les. Guy in the audiance asked Mrs.Ossonflags if we knew the "Wild Rover" When told by her that was a tad boring he said, "I bet they don't know "The Ragmans ball".Proceeded to do the song and same guy pressed a tenner into selfs grubby -and sweaty - palm thanked me and departed. The lovely Mr.Wasling remarked in his usual inimitable way " if you got a tenner for one song should be selling CD's for £200" !!! Am now departing to spend next two weeks at the Whitters.Hope to see some of you at the festival. |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: The DeanMeister Date: 16 Aug 04 - 06:22 AM I once offered him a tenner NOT to sing Danny Boy, as I recall....!!! |
Subject: RE: 'Punch the Horse' From: Sweetfia Date: 18 Aug 04 - 08:13 AM Ok i'm lost, who is PR? And why am i supposed to be her? I know it was ages ago now, and i'm alitle late in saying it, but thanks for another wonderful night (bout a week or two ago) at the Foresters PtH! I very much enjoyed it! S'fia x |
