Jim Is also at the Sun in Stockton this Monday and The Brit in Darlington on Tuesday. So we get three great nights, not just one!

Surreysinger - 'The Welly' is a pub called The Wellington, in a village called Wolviston on Teesside. It is the home club of the Wilson family so we have some wonderful singing there every week, both because there is a great deal of respect for traditional ballads and songs, and also because it's the best place in the country for chorus singing!. Jim MacFarland has been to this area many times - he is a regular at Whitby festival and so is well know to audiences round here - and it is always a real pleasure to hear him. This thursday will be an extra special night at the Welly.

But if you're ever up this way another time, be sure to drop in. The club runs as a singers night every thursday, with a guest usually once a month. There is usually a thread on Mudcat for the guest nights so if you need more info, just ask, and we'll supply directions etc.

Thanks for that Helen. Yes, I know Jim is a regular at Whitby - I've seen him there (and other places like the Keith Summers Festival) myself, and love his singing ... I'm not sure I'm likely to be in that neck of the woods at any point.... but never say never!! I'll keep the details just in case! In the meantime, hope you have a really good night.

Jim was doing a couple of clubs in the Midlands late last year with Jerry O'rielly, he's a wonderful singer but also responsible, for collecting a lot of songs from the Irish tradition. Your in for a good night I'm sure, Wilsons aswell!!! great night.
