Sounds great - I'll be away in Wales then otherwise I would have popped up for a free weekend of B&B with my sister. The Nursery and shanties are my first memory of folk - specifically 'Red' Reg Crawford, Graham Whitley and Roger Kennington giving them some welly in the late 70's

Anyone else here remember those days?

Hope it goes well

Sounds good!!! I even have an eye patch, which would surely give me a good piratical look. Pity my surgeon has banned me from doing anything that is remotely interesting at present. I'm recovering from a trabulectomy, and most thoroughly bored.

Hope you have an amazingly good afternoon.

Diane

We expect a full report if there are any survivors.

Be careful of the tides!

have a good afternoon - The Nursery was where I cut my teeth (as well as the Red Lion, Trimdon) - back in the late 70s / early 80s. Scary. I will, however, look forward to hopefully meeting the Young'uns at Lancaster (Glasson) over Easter weekend.

Hey Northerner! What's a trabulectomy?

The only thing I know about Hartlepool is something about a nuclear power station. But that was yonks ago and we were still in the design stage. Did it ever get built?

another exiled Hartlepudlian who cut his teeth in 'the nursery' and remembers the late Graham Whitley, and Ying Tong John, Mike Elliott, Jez Lowe, Neil Hart etc al... with affection, wishing you well for the venture....

A trabulectomy is a surgical operation on the eye to treat glaucoma, particularly when medication (eye drops) has been already tried and not been successful. My op was there and a half weeks ago. Hopefully my surgeon will let me do normal things again when I return for another check-up on Tuesday. It means I have missed several workshops that I had wanted to go to, because of the surgery. Thankfully I was able to go on a storytelling gig a few days ago, thank goodness. I told some stories at a local WI.

Sean, I wish I had come instead of watching my Tele and the Boro getting stuffed by Cardiff.
Sounds like you had a good time .
Webfolk and others should really have given Alan Todd a mention, he was high on my list of remembering folks at the Nursery.

Cheers

Betsy.

Oh yes - I remember Alan Todd's 'No More Frying Bacon' well. I think it was his own song but not sure - anyone know for certain?

And Neil Hart was one of my favourites in those early days

Maybe a Nursery Reunion would be a good idea for those of us still around?
