This is an Easter to remember,
as it was Pope Francis' last Easter on earth.
He died after midnight.

Going on the day after Easter in a Jubilee is hopeful.

Anticipating Easter 2026, during a fraught time on so many levels.
Thinking of Joe Offer recovering at home.
Hope the day is a happy one for all Mudcatters.

here in the Land of Oz it's approaching breakfast time on Easter Sunday! On Friday I cracked open a painted egg (yum!) created by one of my musician friends who brought a dozen to band practice.

Aerial photographer's hunt for salt lake 'Easter eggs' yields striking images in WA (Western Australia)

Happy Easter to all from Lancashire. Easter Day, and it's quite warm in the morning sunshine, although we've just had a brief hail shower. But it was a windy night as Storm Dave passed over.
Bargeboards and ridge tiles have been blown off the houses next door.

Egg rolling in Avenham Park, Preston, tomorrow. The Council has made repeated efforts to organise the event, but families are happy just to do their own thing.
Chocolate eggs wrapped in foil have largely replaced the traditional decorated hard-boiled eggs, though they barely roll at all on the grassy slopes leading down to the River Ribble.
And while you will not see many hard-boiled eggs, animal rights group PETA has urged Preston Council to replace them with decorated potatoes. Surely the egg is a symbol of spring!

Visitors to Avenham Park can also see the handsome New Tram Bridge - actually a footbridge - which now spans the River Ribble, and which will be officially opened later this spring.

Here the sun is now up over the western rangeland. Cattle are grazing outside my fence. Inside, rabbits are grazing on green leaves of various plants, and quite a few of the plants are in bloom now. My two small trees, which had each been whacked down by a prior idiot resident, have regenerated and are greening up. A good morning to appreciate life renewing itself. Happy Easter!

My elderly neighbor across the street always tells me not to plant my tomatoes until Easter. It's time to get that garden ready!

I heard that you should plant potatoes on Good Friday. So when i grew them I always put a few in then.

Happy Easter dinner

Ham with pineapple, asparagus with butter
and a potato with sour cream.

Then hot apple cider and the Girl Scout cookies that had been waiting all Lent long

New for this year: exploremores - rocky road ice cream
inspired cookies filled with flavors of chocolate,
marshmallow and almond crème.

Tasty and delicious

Gee, I think this is the first time I haven't sung on Easter since I first joined a choir in fifth grade. No practices, no new music to learn.
I'm supposed to stay home for two more weeks. Then we'll see. Instead of going to Mass, I listened to Easter sermons from Pope Leo, James Talarico, and Mudcat's Rev. Dan Schatz. Interesting to hear Dan's Unitarian take on things.

Happy Easter!

You were in good company this year, Joe! Keep following doctors' orders and get completely over (and better!) this recent procedure.
