Hear ye! hear ye! fellow Mudsplatters.

This coming Sunday, 20th October, at 6pm, there will be a Musician's Session (not strictly, Singers welcome) at the Oddfellows Arms, Eastgate, Beverley, East Yorks. This is taking place following the success of a recent evening when I stood in for the usual compere. It was commented on that it made a totally different evening to their usaul sessions, and could we please do it once a month?

With this in mind, every third Sunday is being tried out, this being the first one. I would obviously prefer some musicians to turn up, or the event will be very short lived!!

Amongst musicians (I use the term loosely) I would like to see are Smallpiper, Nik Nak, Oakley, Skipjack, Sue the Piper lady, and anyone else who fancies a play. I have just been told that Gerard the piper is gonna try get down too, so bring your Key of F Bassoons please people!

I tell you what young fella, I'm getting right fed up of these bloody so called "musicians sessions", springing up all over the place.Now I doesn't mind a bit of music now 'n' again, but it seems to me that you can no longer go into a pub in Beverley, and enjoy a quiet pint and a game of dominoes, what with all these bloody folk sessions spring up here there and every where, it's about time somebody put a stop to it if you ask me, I can hardly hear meself think with that racket going on.

I am sat here quivering with sensitivity.Why is this? you may well ask. I havent had an hand embossed invite to your musical evening in beverley.Therefore, this is yet another venue I shall not be attending.

Paper Mills, you have converted me to to the "Joy of Dirges" featuring the bloke with the beard. I have, this afternoon, written a beauty. How long does the session last last tonight? Given a couple of hours, I'll try to cram in an expurgated version. I need a longer bow, even for the more animated passages.......

I think I'll be wearing a mark III dirge-detector later.
