The inaugural S to M just happened at Grafton in Northern NSW, and was a decided success. Some things as ever need tweaking, but most people there seemed to really enjoy it.

My band The Moveable Priests, after dropping personnel unavoidably, turned into a scratch affair, with several musos helping out at short notice in that wonderful small-festival way, to produce good performances.

Of what I myself saw ( not comprehensive as I left a day early) - Bob Campbell gave an absorbing presentation on the Aboriginal brothers Jimmy and Joe Governor, whose catastrophic exploits were the basis for the Jimmy Blacksmith movie.

The beautiful Captain's Table room in Roche's Hotel hosted a great singing session, perhaps my highlight of the festival.

Well done to organisers John Spencer, Chris Sullivan, Geoff Welham, and all the volunteers.

I agree with you Simon. What a great wee festival and an easy drive for us Brisbanites. Wonderful Irish sessions and great singing sessions. The chance to see performers who don't often come up this way and also seldom seen friends from the other side of the border.A different emphasis and not on the same scale as the National but none the less a great weekend.
