This just in from Electric Voices HQ ......

Young Scottish fiddle player and singer Jenna Reid will be appearing
at the Electric Theatre, Guildford, on Friday 27th June (followed a
week later by ace guitarist Martin Simpson on Friday 4th July).

Jenna stole the show when she appeared at the Electric Theatre in
March last year with her sizzling reels and lovely slow airs. Taught
by legendary fiddler Tom Anderson, Jenna won the "Shetland's Young
Fiddler of the Year" competition at the age of 13 and went on to win
the 'Up & Coming Artist' prize at the Scots Traditional Music Awards.
As a member of the bands Filshka and Dochas she has performed
throughout Europe and America.

"But," to quote the Scottish Herald newspaper, "it's in a duo such as
the one with guitarist Kevin Mackenzie, that Reid really blooms.
Expect sparks to fly - and a good greet when she puts her heart and
soul into the sad tunes".

Needless to say we're delighted that Jenna will be joined by Kevin
Mackenzie on stage at the Electric Theatre on Friday 27th June.

Tickets £10.00 in advance, £12.00 on the day.
Box Office: 01483 444789
or online at from the Electric Theatre

(There is also a special offer ticket price available if you book tickets for the Martin Simpson gig at the same time)

I saw her at the Early Music Centre in York a while back and she was excellent - played with Kevin + her sister + bass player. A couple of friends of mine had been on a fiddle workshop in the Dales some time before and she came bouncing up at the interval for a chat and she is a really genuinely lovely lass full of life and enthusiasm as well as being an excellent fiddler.
