Subject: Jammers in Atlanta? Esp. E. Euro music? From: GUEST,30_button Date: 20 May 09 - 07:02 PM My brother is moving to Atlanta and is looking for folks to play music with. He's a mando player; loves E. European, Russian, etc. (plays in a band in his old town). Any musicians in Atlanta interested in getting together? (he's not a Mudcatter, so I"m writing this as a public service) |

Subject: RE: Jammers in Atlanta? Esp. E. Euro music? From: Stringsinger Date: 21 May 09 - 03:06 PM There are quite a few here in the Atlanta area. There was at one time a mandolin orchestra which might still be going on but one thing for certain: There is a very good balalaika orchestra and they are always looking for new players. Dave Cooper who is the director is a fine musician, mandolin, domra, balalaika (all voices) and a great guy. Every year, our friends host an International party that often has Bulgarian, Romanian, Russian and other ethnic musicians attending. You can send me a personal page message on Mudcat. Frank |
