A press release yesterday announced the sale of EMI Music to Universal (a branch of Vivendi of France).
The EMI Music portfolio includes Capitol, Virgin and Blue Note.
The catalogue includes not only popular music (Beatles, etc.) but many classical and international music albums.

The availability of many albums may be in doubt.

Virgin Records was sold by Branson to EMI in 1992.

Branson still owns a partial interest in Virgin stores, which sell music and published material.
