Subject: Otway & Barrett SE London Friday 25 Jan From: GUEST,The Goose Is Out! Date: 15 Jan 19 - 01:24 PM John Otway & Wild Willy Barrett + Andy Twyman: The Goose Is Out! The Ivy House, Friday 25 January. Tickets https://www.wegottickets.com/thegooseisout We're very excited to welcome back John Otway to The Goose Is Out, this time with multi-instrumentalist Wild Willy Barrett. This gig is a 2019 tour preview, the tour will be in May/June. Otway and Barrett have a magnetic bond that still holds after more than 40 years. They are widely loved for their total in-yer-face originality, the contrast between the deadpan humour of Barrett and mad onstage antics of Otway is hilarious to watch. John’s lyrical genius and Willy’s outstanding musicianship (he seems to play almost every stringed instrument known to man) For any Otway/Barrett virgins out there who don’t know what to expect, be prepared for everything from bare-chested theremin playing to wah-wah wheelie bin as the duo jump from one hit and 40 near misses to another: An amazing and irreverent performance by two master entertainers. Andy Twyman will open for Otway & Barrett tonight he is a jaw-droppingly good one-man band who we came across at a Blues Night at The Ivy House. He’s also very funny ….. “A one-man 100% genuine blues boogie machine…like John Lee Hooker on acid” – The Blog of the Blues Otway & Barrett https://youtu.be/cihz-Ftq6wU Andy Twyman https://youtu.be/3HbB0Yw4_WM |

Subject: RE: Otway & Barrett SE London Friday 25 Jan From: Steve Jones Date: 17 Jan 19 - 02:10 PM Otway & Barrett: I saw them a few times 43 years ago before they were famous outside Aylesbury (where they and I were living at the time). It was fun - then, anyway - and Wild Willy's musicianship was always impressive. To judge from the video not much has changed, except that we are all a good deal less photogenic now. |
