Subject: Lyr Req: A for Apple Pie From: GUEST Date: 15 May 26 - 04:29 PM Back in the 1970s, our school entered an annual choir competition in Whitby, the Eskdale Festival. One year the set song was called "A for Apple Pie" about a character called Polly Pilikin/Pillikin, and I'm trying to find the full lyrics and any more information about it. Some of the lyrics I remember are "...there stood an apple pasty, sugar white as snow. Off the shelf she toppled it, quick and quiet and canty, as the meeny mice they watched her on her tip, tap toe". The final line goes '"Thief!" Squeaked the smallest mouse, "Polly, spare a crumb"'. |
