In the early seventies the Mason Profitt Band had a single called Two Hangmen. I'm trying to learn the chords for the song. I've picked them up using the bass line and have the chord progression for the first half of the song as D A C G F# G A A and the second half as A E GD A.

It was suggested to me that the F# in the first part might actaully be an F#m - reasoning being that F#m is a more common chord. Also, I think that the last chord in the first half is not an A, but some dirivitive - tho neither Am or A7 sounded right. However my ear isn't yet trained well enough to tell for sure. Can anyone verify any of this or set me straight with the correct chords?

(BTW, I was re-introduced to this long-forgotten song when looking for something else on Napster. Another unanticitpated benefit from a controversial program. I guess there's some good in almost anything, even if it is unintentional.)

This page (click) has it as an F# and the last chord as an A.
