Subject: Kate Martin's Waltz - Blair Douglas From: GUEST,Skipjack at ancestral home on Essex Coast Date: 26 Aug 00 - 08:06 PM I've got a sketchy handwritten score of this tune, which is a real cracker, done by the impossibly handsome Sandy Brechin, accordion wizard and thoroughly bloody nice bloke, but I don't read too well, and it's got lots of tadpoles I don't understand the length of. Sandy told me that it was written for the Post Office lady on some far flung Scottish Isle, who dished out the dole to the hapless composer, Blair Douglas, allegedly! Anyone got any leads on this one? Skipjack (who will be slipping the mooring for a nice long sail come high water, about 9 hours time) |

If it's like most "Celtic" style stuff, he plays ornaments that are not in the score, and you will prob'ly need to figure those out for yourself. (ANCESTRAL HOME!!?? BLOODY HELL........tell us it's not true, please? Yer not an Earl, or anything, are you now?) |
