Help: Pubs with live music in St. John's, Nfld

I'll be in St. John's, Newfoundland for a few days in late July with a group of hikers. We'd like to go to some bars/pubs and hear some live music, or just have a beer. Personally I like traditional music, but others in the group may be more interested in jazz, rock, etc. If anyone can suggest a few places to hear live music and the type heard there, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi Mike,any pub you like.The Folk club is at the Ship Inn on wednasday nights.Irish and Nfld at Erins pub.
Go to George street and pick a pub.Total madness,every kind of taste in music is here.ljc
