No, actually, "Three chords, the truth, and a whole lot of exclamation points to beat your head with in case you didn't get the point."

"Country music motto"
How about, "Bend over hoss - I've got something for y'all"
Sorry, couldn't resist (bet the cowboy said that too)

An old truck, an old farm, and Martin D-45 with a huge pick guard and butterbean tuners.

"I like both kinds of music, Country and Western."

"Squeal like a piggy."

I think now is a fitting time to bring up David Allan Coe's You Never Even Called Me By My Name. The final chorus of the song runs through about every popular theme in country songs.

There is this iconic verse from the great Merle Haggard's "Okie From Muskogee:

We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee
We don't take our trips on LSD
We don't our burn draft cards down on Main Street
'Cause we like living right and being free

but I prefer the Youngblood's reworking of it:

We might smoke marijuana if we want to
Now and then a trip on LSD
We still burn Old Glory down at the White House
'Cause we like living right and being free

The song referenced above by David Allen Coe was actually written by Steve Goodman one of the great writers who sadly died young.

Correct indeed Hootenanny, Coe mentions that in the song before launching into the last stanza. In a funny twist of fate and timing, Goodman wrote the song with the help of John Prine. Prine also helped write it but thought country listeners would find it offensive and asked not to be mentioned.

I've said this before, but the Bonzo creature buys his exclamation marks wholesale.

Here's one for him Asshole from El Paso, courtesy of my brother Pádraig.
