My best friend lost his 18yr old son in a traffic accident on monday. He's having a real hard time, and I'm 1500 miles away, and can't get there. I hurt, but I can't imagine his pain. And the kicker is , his name was Chad, and he lived in Florida Mike Bennett

Sorry Mike......Same thing happened at about this time a few years ago to my wife's friend. Losing a child is one of the toughest battles a parent can face.

You and your friend are in our thoughts.

Mike,
I know "Sorry" doesn't do much. But it is all that I have. Try to remember the gift you had for all these years. Be well.

Mike, I'm so sorry. It seems like, bad as it is at any time, tragedy striking at holiday time is an especially ruinous thing. Please forward our sorrow to your friend.

Ebbie

Mike, my prayers are with your friend, his family, and you. The loss of a child is so much to bear. I can relate as I pray for comfort for my sister. She lost her 25 year old son in March in a conoe accident. This Saturday is his birthday, and we are all tuned in to her great loss at this time.

Mike, Since I lost my own 15 y/o daughter the same way 2 months ago, I do know what your friend and you are going through. I really wish I had the words or way to make it all better. If it wasn't for friends and even strangers offering kindness and support, I think I'd have gone crazy. To quote the priest at my daughter's funeral, "It's a pain you 'll always carry. But know that you'll never have to carry it alone. There are many who will walk with you and remember with you". These words have helped me and I hope they can provide you and your friend some solace. My prayers go with you tonight. James

Mike, accept and pass on to your friend our condolences. I have not lost a child so therefore cannot fathom what that must feel like. Thanksgiving Day marks the anniversary of my Dad's passing eight years ago.

Mike,
it's the worst I can imagine to endure. And it's so true that you'll carry the pain in some way all your life. My thoughts are with you all.

I am so sorry for your friend's loss. Please know that you and your friend and family are in my thoughts and meditations.

Shakespeare wrote: "Grief fills the room of my absent child,
Lies in his bed, walks up and down with me...
Remembers me of all his gracious parts...
Then I have reason to be fond of grief."

This happened to a friend's daughter a few years ago, one who'd helped us a lot. There's nothing you can say, all you can do is be there. And you can't even do that.

There are times I wish cars had never been invented.

Some threads make you feel SO inadequate, and so fortunate. For what little it's worth my thoughts and good wishes are with you, your friend and his family.
